Soul Doubt is five groovin' musicians sharing our own fresh spin on the classics. From Stevie Wonder to Steely Dan, Al Green to Hall & Oats, we serve up an eclectic and danceable mix of R&B, Funk, Soul, Jazz, and Rock.  Don't doubt the soul!

TERREL EATON

// sax - flute - vocals

Terrel has toured and recorded with such artists as Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Bonnie Raitt and David Sanborn.  He also performs in the Santa Cruz area with Locomotive Breath, and composes, produces and records scores for video productions.  Terrel has taught music in Aptos and Watsonville public schools, at Cabrillo College, and co-directs the Kuumbwa Jazz Camp.

STEVE WIESNER

// guitar

As a young lad, Steve found himself mesmerized by the psychedelic stereoscopic sounds of rock bands of the 70’s and 80’s. With a burning desire to get guitars and play guitars, he set out to learn how to make these crazy sounds on steel and wood, pick ups and amps, and pedals! Lots of pedals! He plays professionally in rock and blue grass bands, dabbles in blues and jazz and now finds himself ridding the flying coat tails of 4 crazy good musicians, chomping chords and ripping licks to classic R&B, funk, pop and Steely Dan. Needless to say he's stoked to be playing with Soul Doubt!

RYAN RAMIREZ

// drums - vocals

Ryan has been singing and playing music his whole life. His favorite sounds have always been the classic soul of the 70's like Al Green, Marvin Gaye, The Delfonics and The Temptations.  Having the opportunity to play and sing some of the songs from this era alongside four other amazing musicians has been a joy.  Ryan is a software Product Director by day and forever laying down the Soul by night. Along with two of his other bandmates, he is passionate about aviation and holds a Private Pilot License. Next time you see an airplane flying over Santa Cruz, give a wave. It might be one of us!

FOREST WILSON

// bass - vocals

Forest has been playing and singing since he was five years old. Hailing from a diverse musical family, Forest enjoys performing, writing and engineering recordings and is co-founder and engineer at the Tool Shed Studios in Morgan Hill California. His career in the music industry spans over twenty years and in 2015 he was credited on the Grammy winning album "Realidades" by Los Tigres del Norte. Forest graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston in 1999 with a degree in Music Production and Engineering and he's currently a Lead Software Test Engineer at Universal Audio. Forest's other passion is Aviation which he shares with his Soul Dout bandmates and holds a Private Pilot's Certificate.

BARRY PORTER

// keyboards - vocals

Music and flying have been Barry's passions for a long time (since before your sun burned hot in space, and before your race was born), with a little sailing, stargazing and train chasing thrown in. His wife says he is obsessed with transport. Fortunately, she likes to travel. It's really just that Barry likes going places, better than he likes being places....but if he had to be somewhere, onstage with Soul Doubt is one of his top choices.
